McLoone has the equipment and expertise available to offer a variety of options for die-cut components. As a Select Converter for 3M, high-quality and economical materials are readily available.
With a long history of supplying durable component solutions for electronics, industrial equipment, medical devices, and more, we are here to help find the answer for your design challenge.
Made from acrylic or foam, die-cut adhesive components solve specific problems such as sound dampening, shielding, electrical insulation, thermal management, bonding, gap filling, sealing, air flow, and overheating.
Secure attachment of an overlay, panel, or serial plate can be difficult when there is an uneven surface, or there is a bend to the part. Die-cut spacers help resolve this issue. Spacers are used to:
Even out a rough surface
Insulate against heat or cold temperatures
Fill a gap between mating surfaces
Gasket and seal spacers are typically non-decorated components that are hidden from view on the product. They serve as solutions to:
Prevent leakage
Reduce vibration
Protect against shock, dust, or moisture
Die-cut adhesive is supplied to meet size and shape needs as well as any configuration of holes, cutouts, or slots to each unique spec and application. The preferred vendor for adhesives is 3M, but equivalent solutions can be reviewed.
Aluminum, stainless steel, and polycarbonate are additional materials that can be cut and used for spacers and insulators.

Acrylic and foam adhesives in a variety of thicknesses is offered. Common specifications call for the 3M brand, but equivalent alternatives can be identified as well.
Aluminum, stainless steel and polycarbonate are other options for undecorated material that can be die-cut for use as spacers or insulators.
Each blank is custom built in size, shape, and configured with appropriate cut-outs to meet your unique requirements and application. A library with thousands of dies in common sizes means many options for your blank or tag needs. In-house tooling means quick turnaround for custom builds.
Holes, slots, and other cut-outs can be built into the tools. Corners can be square or rounded. Simply provide the location of each hole along with diameter and corner radius dimensions in your artwork file.
Artwork is produced in Adobe Illustrator. For production purposes, we prefer VECTOR artwork whenever possible. A vector image is lines or shapes mapped out mathematically rather than pixel-based, referred to as raster which when scaled larger becomes fuzzy. The advantage of vector-based images is that they never lose their quality despite the size of the image. Files received in other formats may delay processing and require redrawing. More information can be found on our Artwork Submission page.
Typically die-cut components are ordered and supplied without decoration - simply cut from appropriate material, to the size and shape needed. Aluminum, stainless steel, and polycarbonate can be customized with colored borders, logos, or text.
Die-cut component material includes common 3M adhesives as well as durable aluminum and stainless steel. Flexible polycarbonate is another option that can be cut to spec.
